Mary Beth Humenik
Front Desk Manager
Mary Beth Humenik provides the soundtrack for Humenik Dentistry in every sense of the word. Musically, her wide-ranging, eclectic taste is showcased in the background music you hear throughout the office every day—you never know if it’s going to be the Beatles, Jimmy Buffett or Lyle Lovett. She is the also friendly voice on the phone when you call to schedule your appointment and she is almost always the first friendly face you see when you arrive.
Mary Beth and Mark met in 1993 and married in 1995. She joined him in managing the dental office after a successful career in the publishing industry. As a representative for college textbook publishers, she traveled extensively for 10+ years and was happy to apply her outgoing personality and outstanding organizational skills to the practice.
Mary Beth is involved in organized dentistry and attends many regional and national meetings with Mark. She is very active with America’s Dentists Care Foundation and participates in the planning and execution for several Mission of Mercy events each year. She’s an avid reader and loves spending time with her family, especially her 20+ nieces and nephews.
Mary Pat Lehman
Front Desk Coordinator
Every office needs a “jack of all trades” and Mary Pat Lehman fills that position at Humenik Dentistry. She joined the practice as front desk coordinator in 2014, and is an invaluable member of the staff and a favorite of the patients. She tackles everything from scheduling appointments to sorting out challenging insurance situations with great efficiency. Mary Pat has distinguished herself as the technology expert at Humenik Dentistry and helps with new and existing systems in the ever-changing world of dental office technology. Last but not least, she ensures Humenik Dentistry’s compliance with all things HIPAA- and OSHA-related by keeping current on any new requirements for dental practices.
When not working, Mary Pat loves to be outdoors and spends time sailing, golfing, and enjoying campfires with her husband, Bill. After she and Bill got married in 2021, they bought a home in LaGrange Park, the suburb where Mary Pat was born and raised. She happily moved back to the neighborhood, after 25+ years of living on Chicago’s northwest side. She and Bill love to entertain and their home is always filled with family, friends and neighbors. They host holidays, sporting events and neighborhood gatherings as often as possible.
Janelle Wood
Front Desk Coordinator
Patients may encounter Janelle Wood when they arrive for appointments at Humenik Dentistry. Janelle has 25+ years of experience in sales, marketing and customer service and is a part-time team member. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska in Omaha and an MBA from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas.
When asked to identify her favorite color, Janelle remarked “vertical stripes.” With that reply, it was obvious that her fun and enthusiastic personality made her a perfect fit for Humenik Dentistry. We know our patients will enjoy their interactions with her. When she’s not at work, Janelle likes to cook, read, travel and spend time with her husband, Andrew, and their very active children, daughter Bronwyn and son Payne.
Amara Elizabeth Hans
Office Assistant
Amara came to Humenik Dentistry as a patient when she was 3 ½ years old. Since high school she has been a member of the Humenik Dentistry family, helping out as a Dental Office Assistant two days each week. Amara is happiest when she is busy, and she makes sure that all of the Humenik Dentistry’s take-home patient bags are filled and organized. In addition to helping the front desk team, Amara brightens the office with her stylish fashion and accessories.
When she’s not at work, Amara attends weekly art and exercise classes. She also enjoys yoga, music, dancing and participating in her healthy supper club. Amara has three older siblings who live in Chicago. She has a wonderful sense of humor and is a great addition to Humenik Dentistry!
Greta Frehner
Front Desk Assistant
On school breaks, the front desk team is assisted by Greta Frehner. Greta has enjoyed being part of the Humenik Dentistry team since high school. Greta greets patients, answers phones and works with the computer system.
She attends Purdue University where she is studying Industrial Management with concentrations in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Economics and Marketing. Greta loves to stay busy, and is very involved in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and in the School of Management. Greta has two younger brothers and many cousins who live nearby. When she isn’t at school or working, Greta loves traveling and spending time with her large extended family and friends.
